Fenrir, the monstrous wolf of Norse mythology, charges through a snow-covered forest with teeth bared and eyes fixed ahead. Frosted trees and deep winter shadows surround the great beast as snow flies beneath his paws, emphasizing his power, speed, and barely contained fury.
In Norse legend, Fenrir is the enormous wolf born to Loki and a giantess. Fearing what he would become, the gods bound him with magical chains. Their fears ultimately prove justified: at Ragnarok, Fenrir breaks free and joins the forces arrayed against the gods, becoming one of the most terrifying creatures associated with the end of the world.
From the artist:
One of my favorite subjects is wolves. So, I’ve created a lot of wolf themed arworks, but this guy was a bit more intense and fierce than what I usually make. I decided he needed to be some more than just a regular wolf. Hence he got a name from mythology. This was my largest work to date featuring a wolf.

Fenrir is available as home decor, gifts, apparel, and more through my Pixels / Fine Art America storefront.
